Hi everyone, I'm nearing my due date and heard about water breaking. How do I know if my water breaks in pregnancy, what does it feel like? I want to be prepared for labor.
My water broke with a slow leak, and since I had a C-section planned, my doctor asked me to come to the labor room immediately. Definitely call your gynac if you notice any unusual wetness.
Don't stress too much but if you feel a continuous leak that is odorless, it's probably water breaking. Just grab your hospital bag and call your doctor right away!
For me, I felt a sudden pop and then a warm trickle that just didn't stop even when I sat down. I got so nervous and rushed to the hospital right away!
My doctor told me that water breaking can feel like a sudden gush or a continuous slow leak that you can't control with your pelvic muscles. If you suspect this, put on a pad and contact your gynac immediately.
If it is amniotic fluid, it will be clear or pale yellow and won't smell like urine. Don't wait at home, just head to your hospital immediately to be safe.
