Im 37 weeks now and getting close to my date. Everyone keeps talking about dilation but i dont understand how you actually feel if it has started. Can you even tell at home or only the gynac checks?
Yaar the cervix opening is checked by the gynac through examination, you cant really feel it yourself. Near the due date if you get regular tightening pains, thats the time to go in. Leave the actual checking to the doctor.
This is not something you can check at home, only the doctor can examine the cervix. If you mean dilation near delivery, signs like strong regular contractions or water leaking mean you should rush to hospital. Please dont try to assess this yourself.
Beta dont worry trying to figure this out on your own. Your gynac monitors all this at your visits and during labour. If you feel strong cramps or any leaking, just go to the hospital.
