My belly is getting bigger now and I cant find a comfortable way to lie down at night. Sleeping straight feels weird and im confused which side is okay. How do you all manage to rest?
My app kept reminding me to sleep on the left as the trimesters went on. I bought a C shaped pregnancy pillow and it supported the back and belly so well. Side sleeping with knees bent was the sweet spot for me.
Left side is the recommended one, especially as the belly grows, it's better for blood flow. Use a pillow between the legs and one under the belly for support. Early on you can lie however is comfy, the side rule matters more later.
Sleeping on the left side was most comfy for me, with a pillow tucked between my knees. After my c-section too, side lying with support was the gentlest. Take it slow getting up, roll to the side first then push up.
I keep waking up on my back and getting worried, anyone else? My doctor said dont stress if you shift in sleep, just turn back to your side when you notice. A pregnancy pillow honestly changed my nights.
Elders at home told me left side is best and the doctor agreed, so that worked out. I just propped pillows around me. Whatever keeps you comfortable and lets you breathe easy, but yes left side as the bump grows.
