Lately even walking to the kitchen makes my heart race and i can feel it pounding. Im in my second tri and this feeling scares me a little. Planning to mention it to my gynac next visit but wanted to know if others felt their heart rate go up like this.
A slightly higher heart rate is normal in pregnancy because your body is pumping more blood. But if you feel it racing often, with breathlessness or dizziness, please dont try to manage it at home, get it checked by your doctor.
Pregnancy naturally raises your heart rate a bit, mine was higher in both. Deep slow breathing, sitting down, sipping water and staying calm helps in the moment. But if it stays high tell your gynac.
For me a fast heart rate turned out to be linked to my thyroid, so it really needed proper checking. Please dont just try to lower it at home, mention it at your next visit and keep your follow ups regular.
Slightly faster heartbeat is part of pregnancy beta, the body is working harder. Rest, hydrate and breathe slowly. But if it feels too fast or scary, ring your doctor, dont sit with it.
Gentle breathing exercises helped me a lot, and my doc cleared me for slow walks and light prenatal yoga which kept things calmer. Dont start anything intense without asking your doctor first though.
