Im 7 months now and thinking ahead about breastfeeding. My MIL says to do some prep but i have no clue what to actually do or if its even needed. What did you all do to prepare? A bit clueless here.
Mostly nature does the work, you will notice changes already happening. Avoid harsh soaps on the area. If you have flat or inverted nipples, just mention it to your gynac so they can guide before delivery.
Honestly you dont need to do much, the body prepares on its own. I just kept the area clean and moisturised to avoid dryness. After delivery the lactation nurse guided me on latching, that mattered more than any prep.
Dont over fiddle with them, it can cause contractions actually. A good supportive bra and keeping skin moisturised is enough. Learn about latching closer to your due date, thats the real prep.
