How to prevent urinary tract infection in pregnancy?
I had a really bad uti before pregnancy and it was so painful, dont want to go through that again now. Anyone has small tips that worked for them to avoid it? Im in my second trimester.
Water water water, thats the main thing. Dont hold your pee even if you feel lazy, go when you need to. And wipe front to back, simple but it really helps prevent it.
Staying hydrated is the biggest one. Cotton inners, dont stay in sweaty clothes, and pee after intercourse. But if you actually get symptoms doctor advice is best because UTIs in pregnancy need proper treatment, dont self medicate.
Drink enough water through the day and keep that area clean and dry. My amma told me coconut water also helps keep things flushed, I had it daily. But anything serious like fever, do call your doctor immediately.
Just delivered last month, and the one thing that kept me UTI free was sipping water all day even when I wasnt thirsty. Also empty bladder fully each time, dont rush. Worked for me whole pregnancy.
I got a UTI in my second trimester and ignored the burning thinking its normal, big mistake. Pls dont do that. Drink lots of water and if you feel any burning or urge to go again and again, see your gynac fast, they treat it safely in pregnancy.
