Just confirmed last week, im so happy but also confused about the whole process. People are telling me to register at the hospital or some govt centre for the cards and all. First time mom here, no idea where to start. can someone guide me?
I registered at the hospital where I planned to deliver, did it in my first trimester. Just took my Aadhaar and previous reports. They set up all the scan and test schedule from there, super organised once it's done.
If you want the free govt benefits and schemes, register at the govt hospital or anganwadi/PHC, they note you in the system and you get the MCP card. Costs nothing and you get free checkups n iron tablets too. Worth doing early.
Usually you register at your nearest govt hospital or PHC, or the private hospital where you'll deliver. They'll open a file, start your antenatal checkups and give you a mother-child card. Carry your ID and address proof first visit.
I was confused about this too in the beginning! I just went to my gynac's hospital and the front desk did everything, opened my file and all. Did anyone register at govt centre also for the schemes? Wondering if I should.
