Now that my belly is big I cant even see my legs properly and bending is so hard. Salon jana avoid kar rahi hu these days. How are u girls managing this at home?
Oh my god, I was so paranoid about using hair removal creams or getting razor cuts and catching an infection! I kept asking my gynac if it's safe. If u are shaving, please use a brand new razor and do it very slowly under good light.
Because of PCOS, I always had thick hair growth and shaving during pregnancy was a huge task. I was so scared of getting cuts or infections. I used a safe electric trimmer which was much gentler and safer than a razor.
I managed by using a trimmer while sitting comfortably on a chair in the bathroom. It kept things clean and easy before my delivery. Do whatever feels most comfortable for your body, there's no hard rule.
Please be very careful while moving around in a wet bathroom. I was always so terrified of slipping or hurting myself because of my past loss. Sit down securely on a plastic chair and take your time, or ask someone close to help.
My mother suggested using home pastes, but my gynac said a simple trimmer or razor is perfectly safe as long as u are careful. I sat down comfortably and used a safe razor with lots of soap. Just go slow and stay safe.
When I was at my parents' house, my mother strictly told me not to bend or strain myself in the bathroom. She suggested using a gentle trimmer while sitting down, or just letting it be. Safety of the baby and your balance comes first.
Beta, in our days we didn't worry so much about these things close to delivery. But if u want to clean up, sit on a low stool and use a safe razor with a mirror. Don't use any chemical creams as they might irritate your sensitive skin.
Honestly, looking at the tummy makes it impossible to see down there in the third trimester. I just sat on a small plastic stool in the bathroom and used a hand mirror. Don't try to stand and bend, it's too risky.
With a twin bump, bending down was out of the question, I couldn't even see my knees! I literally handed the trimmer to my husband and said 'it's your job now'. Trust me, just take help and make it a funny bonding moment.
Listen, don't do stunts trying to shave when u can't even see your feet. Either ask your husband to help or simply go to a hygienic parlor for a wax. There is no shame in asking for help during these months.
From a hygiene perspective, shaving is fine but a trimmer is actually much safer to avoid ingrown hair and cuts. Since the skin down there gets very sensitive due to increased blood flow, please don't use harsh chemical creams.
After going through so much for our IVF pregnancy, I didn't want to take even a 1% risk of falling or getting an infection from a cut. I used a small mirror and did a very light trim while sitting safely. Please take it very easy on yourself.
