With my PCOS history, I was always extra cautious about everything. For sleeping in the fifth month, sleeping on the left side is generally recommended for better blood flow. Just keep a soft pillow between your knees, it really helps with back pain.
In my fifth month, I started sleeping strictly on my left side, which really helped. After my C-section later on, sleeping was a struggle again, so getting used to side sleeping early was a blessing. Use a pillow under your belly for support!
Left-side sleeping is the best and cheapest way to ensure good blood flow. Don't waste money on fancy pregnancy pillows; just fold a normal bedsheet or use an old pillow for support. Saving that money now will help with the hospital delivery expenses later.
Try to sleep on your left side as much as possible now, as it keeps the pressure off your main blood vessels and keeps blood flowing well to the baby. If you accidentally roll onto your back, don't worry, just roll back to your side when you wake up.
No need to buy those expensive, huge pregnancy pillows that take up the whole bed. Just use a regular extra pillow under your tummy or between your knees and sleep on your left side. It works perfectly and is so comfortable!
I can only share what worked for me, but sleeping on my left side with one pillow between my legs and another behind my back was the only way I could get any rest in the fifth month. It really eased my hip pressure.
