I was using collagen powder for my skin and hair before i found out im pregnant, now im like 9 weeks. Stopped it for now just to be safe but not sure if i needed to. Anyone checked with their doctor about this?
With supplements like collagen its just safer to ask your doctor since the data is limited. Your prenatal already covers a lot. I would skip it for now unless your gynac specifically okays it.
I looked into this because I used to take it pre pregnancy. The honest answer is its not well studied for pregnant women, so I paused mine. My doctor said stick to your prescribed prenatal vitamins and whole foods instead. Better to ask before restarting.
Honestly there isnt much solid research on collagen supplements in pregnancy, so I would not start it on my own. Anything like supplements during pregnancy, best to run it by your gynac first. I just focused on food sources of protein instead.
I would be careful with this one. Supplements arent always tested for pregnancy and you dont know the exact ingredients. Please ask your doctor before taking any collagen powder, dont go by social media trends on this.
