My saas keeps giving me elaichi for nausea and to freshen up. Im 10 weeks and just want to know if it's actually fine to have daily or should i go easy on it?
It is fine to have in small amounts, but please don't have it in the form of sweet elaichi milk or desserts if you are tracking your blood sugar. I had gestational diabetes and had to be very careful with how I consumed even natural flavorings. Plain water with a pod boiled in it is safer.
Elaichi is a great, cheap way to handle mild nausea instead of running to the doctor and spending on expensive morning sickness pills every time. Save that money for your upcoming scans and blood tests, those hospital bills add up so fast! Just use a little cardamom in your daily tea.
I have heard from my elders that chewing a little elaichi helps with digestion. I am also trying to conceive now, so I'm trying to learn all these small home tips. Hope it is safe for us.
Elaichi is very good for digestion and nausea, beta. You can keep one small piece in your mouth when you feel like throwing up. Just don't consume it in huge quantities, moderate use in food or tea is safe and beneficial.
Oh I panicked so much in my first trimester thinking even a little cardamom in my biryani would cause issues! But actually, my gynac laughed and said it's totally fine in food. It really helps with that metallic taste in your mouth, so enjoy it.
