I have a family function coming up and want to do light makeup. I use elf products mostly but now im double minded whether its ok in pregnancy. Anyone using it these days?
When I was staying at my parents' house during my pregnancy, my mother always told me to minimize makeup and stick to simple home-made face packs. But when I did use Elf products for family functions, I just made sure they were their basic, chemical-free ones.
I had some skin complications and rashes during my first trimester, so I became extremely cautious about every cosmetic. I highly recommend taking your makeup bottles or taking a screenshot of the ingredients and showing it to your gynac or dermatologist before using them.
Actually I'm planning to conceive soon and was looking at my makeup collection yesterday! I love Elf because they are vegan and cruelty-free, but I'm still trying to research which specific products are safe to keep using. Let me know if you find a safe list!
I can't say if it's medically safe for everyone, but I personally used Elf's hydrating primer and concealer during my pregnancy and had no issues. I just made sure to check the ingredients list to avoid anything with retinoids or parabens.
