After dinner i get this terrible acidity and pre pregnancy i used to just take eno and feel fine. Now im 20 weeks and scared to take anything without checking. Is it ok or should i totally avoid it?
I personally avoided Eno completely because I was scared of the high sodium. I just stuck to drinking buttermilk with a pinch of roasted cumin (jeera) powder after meals. It suited my stomach perfectly throughout my pregnancy.
I had severe gas even after my C-section, so I know how painful it is. During pregnancy, my doctor advised me to avoid Eno because of the high salt. Instead, drinking warm fennel (saunf) water really helped clear my stomach naturally.
Beta, Eno has too much salt which is not good for the baby. For acidity, try eating thoda sa gulkand or drinking cold milk ghar pe. It is much safer and gives instant relief.
With my thyroid issues, I had to be very careful about everything I consumed. I asked my doctor about Eno, and she suggested avoiding it due to sodium levels, recommending a safe pregnancy-safe gel instead. Make sure to discuss it during your regular doctor check-ups.
Honestly, occasional Eno is okay but don't make it a daily habit! 🙈 I had crazy acidity and took it sometimes when it got unbearable. Try cold milk or coconut water first, they work like magic! 💖
Look, Eno has high sodium content which can increase your blood pressure and cause water retention. It's fine once in a blue moon, but don't rely on it. Ask your doctor for a safe antacid syrup instead of self-medicating.
