I have a small infected cut on my finger and the chemist gave me fucidin before i knew i was expecting. Now im 9 weeks and scared to use it. Anyone used this during pregnancy or should i check with my gynac first?
I am always careful with anything during pregnancy so I won't say it's safe or not. What worked for me was keeping a small list and asking my gynac in one go. Please confirm with yours before applying anywhere sensitive.
I get the confusion, so many creams have warnings written. Safest is to let the doctor decide because they know your stage and the area you want to apply. A quick call is worth it na.
This question comes up a lot here. General rule, antibiotic creams need doctor's ok in pregnancy, especially first trimester. Carry the tube to your next visit or just send a photo on the clinic whatsapp, most clinics reply.
Fucidin is an antibiotic cream, mostly used for small skin infections. From what I have seen doctors do prescribe it sometimes in pregnancy but only when they decide it's needed. Please don't self apply, just show your gynac the tube once.
Honestly I would not put any cream on without asking first. During my pregnancy I had a small skin thing and my gynac told me which one is ok and which to avoid. Better you message your doc with the cream name, they reply fast usually.
Haan don't take tension but also don't apply randomly na. My doc had given me something else for a rash, she was very particular about pregnancy safe ones. Bas ek baar pooch lo phone pe.
