Period is 5 days late and im running to washroom like every hour even at night. Not drinking extra water or anything. is frequent peeing actually an early sign? dont want to get my hopes up.

Yes frequent urination can be an early sign, the hormones and later the uterus pressing on the bladder cause it. But it can also just be drinking a lot of water or a urine infection. If you suspect pregnancy, confirm with a test after your period is late.
It can be a pregnancy sign, but I will add that if peeing comes with burning or pain, that could be a urine infection and needs the doctor. I had a UTI once that felt similar. So notice if there is any discomfort along with the frequency.
