Everyone at home is telling me papaya is a strict no during pregnancy but i love it na. Is it really all papaya or just the raw one? confused what to believe.
Beta in our homes we always avoid raw or half ripe papaya during pregnancy, the elders say it can cause problems. Fully ripe papaya in small amount some say is okay, but to be safe I just skipped papaya altogether those months. Ask your doctor if you really want to have it.
Family always told us no papaya, especially the raw one. I followed it calmly without stressing. If you have a craving just ask your doctor once and go by her word.
The concern is mainly with raw or unripe papaya, ripe is considered safer by some, but there's a lot of mixed talk on this. I personally avoided it to keep it simple. Honestly just clear it with your gynac and follow that.
My MIL would not let papaya enter the house when I was pregnant, haha. I didnt argue, just had other fruits. Whether its science or tradition, it was easier to avoid and keep peace.
