My doctor mentioned steroids may be needed for a health issue, and the word itself scared me. I will follow only what she says, but wanted to hear others' experiences. Did anyone have to take them while pregnant?
Honestly this isnt something to decide from a forum. Some steroids are used safely under medical guidance, others arent. Whatever the reason, please get it prescribed and monitored by ur doctor, not self started.
My doctor explained there are situations where steroids are actually given for a reason, like lung development if preterm labour is likely. But that's prescribed and monitored. For anything else you must ask the doctor, dont go by general advice.
This is fully a doctor decision, never self take steroids in pregnancy. In some cases doctors do give them on purpose, like to help baby's lungs if early delivery is expected. I got those injections under strict supervision. Please dont take any on ur own.
I was on some meds before pregnancy and I stopped and rechecked everything with my doctor once pregnant. Same with steroids, dont assume, let ur gynac decide whats needed and safe for u.
