My MIL keeps giving me gud after every meal saying it's good for blood and all. I'm in my 5th month and honestly thoda confused, kitna khaana chahiye? Anyone here eating jaggery daily, is it actually fine?
Haan na, even I had sweet cravings and used to eat jaggery. It is safe, but thoda limit mein hi khao. Excess of anything is not good na during these months.
In my first trimester, I felt so guilty eating even a tiny bit of gud because everyone said it causes heat. But my mom made small wheat and jaggery laddoos for me, and honestly, they saved my sweet tooth. It didn't cause any issues at all.
I asked my gynac about this during my 2nd month. She told me jaggery is rich in iron, but since it's pure sugar, we should watch the portion size to avoid sugar spikes. So having a small piece occasionally is absolutely safe.
Actually, small amounts of gud is fine, but don't eat too much daily. My husband always says moderation is key, especially if you have a risk of gestational diabetes. Just have a tiny piece after meals if u crave sweet.
Yaar, I survived on jaggery parathas when I had crazy late-night cravings. Baby is perfectly fine and now keeping me awake all night. Eat in limit and enjoy, don't stress so much!
Arey, jaggery is much better than white sugar, honestly! It has iron too which is great. Just don't go overboard because it generates heat in the body, so half a spoon in tea or a small bite is totally fine.
It's generally said to be safe, but please ask your gynac once before adding it to your daily diet. Everyone's body and sugar levels are different during pregnancy, so it's better to be sure.
