Im veg so i depend on soya for protein but someone said too much soya is not good when pregnant. Now im confused na, should i continue or cut down? pls help.
Omg, I read somewhere online that soya is bad for the baby and I panicked because I had soy chunks the day before! But my gynac completely cleared my doubts and said it is totally fine and healthy in normal amounts.
It's a fantastic protein source, especially if you are vegetarian. Since my doctor allowed me to continue my light workouts and daily walking, having a balanced diet with soya really helped keep my energy levels up.
After my long IVF journey, I was extremely cautious about everything I ate. Soya is actually very good for protein, but I made sure to have it only once or twice a week just to be safe. Sending you lots of warm wishes.
Yes, soya bean is perfectly fine to consume. It is highly nutritious, but just make sure not to consume it in excess, as it contains phytoestrogens. A couple of times a week is totally healthy.
I asked my hospital nutritionist about soyabean, and she said it's a great source of plant protein and calcium. However, if you have any thyroid issues, it's best to consult your doctor first before making it a regular part of your diet.
