We order chinese quite often and it always has soya sauce in it. Now that im expecting im second guessing everything i eat. Is it fine to have or should i cut it down?
A little in your food now and then is fine, but soya sauce is very high in salt, so dont have it too often. I just kept it occasional. Home cooked food with less salt is always better during pregnancy.
I was told to watch salt and processed stuff, soya sauce is loaded with sodium so I kept it minimal. Occasional bit in noodles is okay. Try low sodium versions if you really crave it.
I craved hakka noodles so bad, lol. A small splash of soya sauce is fine, just not a flood of it because of the salt. I balanced it with veggies and felt totally okay.
Small amounts are okay, the main concern is the high sodium content. If your BP is fine and you use it rarely, no big deal. But dont make it a daily thing, and check with your doctor if you have BP issues.
