Is train journey safe during 8th month of pregnancy?
We have to travel to my parents place for delivery and its a long train journey. Im 8 months now and thoda nervous about sitting that long and the jerks. Did anyone travel by train at this stage, how was it?
I wouldn't recommend a long train journey in your 8th month. It is too risky bcoz of the jerks, crowded stations, and lack of immediate medical help if you go into early labor. If it is absolutely unavoidable, get a lower berth and clear it with your gynac first.
Travel in the 8th month can be quite uncomfortable bcoz of the constant movement and sitting posture. If your pregnancy is smooth and your doctor gives a green signal, you can consider short journeys, but make sure to walk in the aisle every hour to avoid blood clots.
Honestly, the only tempting part of a train journey would be the station cutlets and chai, but 8th month is too late to travel! The jerks can trigger contractions, and sitting for long is very tiring. Better to stay safe ghar pe and let family bring the goodies to you.
My pregnancy tracker app says that traveling after 32 weeks is generally not recommended bcoz the risk of preterm labor increases. If you must go, carry all your medical files, keep your emergency contacts ready, and get a medical certificate from your gynac first.
Oh god, sitting on a train seat with an 8-month belly sounds like my worst nightmare right now! The constant shaking and Indian train toilets are a big NO for me. Personally, I would just stay home and order food, but definitely check with your doc first.
