I had a fall and the doctor at ortho wants to do an x ray of my wrist. But im 8 weeks pregnant and now im tension ho rahi about the radiation and baby. Did anyone get an x ray done while pregnant?
X-rays are usually avoided during pregnancy due to radiation, unless it is a super emergency! 🚫 Always let the technician know you are pregnant so they can use a safety shield. Stay safe and double-check with your gynac first! 💕
I won't give medical advice, but when I had a dental issue in my second trimester, the dentist avoided doing an X-ray to be safe. If it is absolutely necessary, they usually put a lead apron on your belly to protect the baby, but do discuss it with your doctor.
Oh, please be very careful. During my pregnancy, even simple nausea made me feel so weak, so I can't imagine dealing with other health issues requiring an X-ray. Unless it's an extreme emergency, doctors usually suggest avoiding radiation, so ask your gynac for an alternative.
I can understand how scary it is to face any medical tests when you are pregnant, your mind must be racing with worries for the baby. Generally, routine X-rays are avoided, but if your doctor says it's urgent, they take extreme precautions. Sending you lots of love.
When my sister needed a scan while staying with our parents, the doctors were extremely cautious and postponed it until after delivery. If you really need one, make sure your family is there with you and the doctor has given written clearance.
