Many times gestational diabetes has zero symptoms, which is why universal screening is done between 24-28 weeks. Relying on symptoms isn't safe, your gynac's blood test is the only accurate way.
Don't try to guess symptoms yourself. Frequent peeing and extreme tiredness can be normal pregnancy signs too, so get your doctor to do the proper OGTT test.
I panicked so much when I had constant dry mouth, thinking it was gestational diabetes. But my tests came out completely normal, so don't stress and just ask your doc for a routine sugar check.
Sometimes extreme fatigue can indicate high sugar, but regular gentle walking after meals helped me manage my levels. Definitely check with your gynac first before modifying your routine or diet.
Having PCOS put me at higher risk for gestational diabetes, so I was super careful. Extreme thirst can be a sign, but please get the proper lab tests done as recommended by your doctor.
In my experience, feeling unusually exhausted even after sleeping could be a hint. Your gynac will surely test you around the second trimester, so just discuss it during your next checkup.
I read that sometimes there are no clear symptoms at all in early stages, which is a bit scary. It's always best to follow what the doctor advises for regular testing.
My MIL told me extreme thirst and frequent washroom trips are common, but my doctor said only blood tests can confirm high sugar. Better to get the regular glucose test done on time.
I completely understand how scary it is to worry about gestational diabetes. Keep a check on extreme thirst or fatigue, and share your anxiety with your gynac so they can order a quick test to reassure you.
I recently delivered and had to monitor my sugar closely. For me, frequent urination and blurry vision sometimes were warnings, but my doc's daily finger-prick tests were the real guide.
Honestly, I was so tired and peeing every ten minutes anyway, how could I tell the difference, haha! Just let your gynac run the sugar test, it's the safest way to know.
I was craving sweets like crazy and got worried about high sugar! But luckily, the doc did the glucose test and it was fine, so definitely get tested instead of guessing.
I had GD in my pregnancy and honestly, I had no major symptoms other than being very tired. Please get your oral glucose tolerance test done, and don't skip your doc's advice on diet.
