Twice this week my nose started bleeding suddenly, once in the morning and it scared me na. Im 22 weeks. Will mention to my doctor but wanted to know if this happened with anyone else and why it happens?
Usually its harmless from hormones and dryness. But if its heavy, happens again and again, or comes with bad headache, please tell your gynac, it could relate to BP. Better to mention it.
My doc told me its because blood volume increases in pregnancy and the tiny vessels in the nose become more delicate, so they bleed easily. Dry weather makes it worse. Mostly harmless she said.
I got this in my 2nd trimester and i panicked so much, i felt something was wrong. Turned out its very common, the extra blood flow does it. Pinch the nose, lean forward, it stopped quickly.
Dryness inside the nose causes it a lot. I kept a little coconut oil or saline drops and the dry feeling reduced. But if bleeding is a lot or wont stop, go get it checked na.
