Just found out im pregnant, around 5 weeks, and i honestly have no clue what to eat now. My appetite is also weird with the nausea. Can u experienced mommas tell me what a good early pregnancy diet looks like? simple home food ideas would help.
Keep it simple in early pregnancy, focus on folic acid rich food like leafy greens and dals, fruits, eggs or paneer for protein, and lots of water. Small frequent meals help with the nausea. Take your folic acid supplement as the doctor prescribes.
Balanced is the word, some protein, iron, calcium and folate every day, plus fruits and fluids. Avoid raw or undercooked stuff and limit caffeine. Honestly its best to get a simple diet chart from your gynac based on your needs.
Honestly in the first weeks i could barely eat, so my rule was just eat whatever stays down. Dry toast, curd rice, fruit, small bites often. Dont stress about a perfect diet if youre nauseous, just keep something going in and sip water.
I stuck to fresh ghar ka khana, dal rice, veggies, curd, seasonal fruits and dry fruits. My mom added soaked almonds and a little ghee. Nothing complicated, just clean home food and your prenatal vitamins.
You dont need expensive superfoods at all. Dal, seasonal sabzi, eggs, banana, peanuts, curd, all cheap and full of nutrients. I planned simple meals and it worked perfectly fine through my pregnancy.
