What does c and t mean on a pregnancy test?

Used a test for the first time and im staring at these C and T letters not understanding anything lol. T line is light and C is dark. what does each mean? pls explain simply.

I looked this up on my pregnancy tracker app! C is Control and T is Test. If you get a line on T, it's positive. If you get a line only on C, then it's negative.
