Im about to enter my 12th week and excited but also curious whats happening with baby right now. My nausea is slowly reducing too. Tell me what to expect this week from your experience.
The 12th week is quite significant because you're officially ending your first trimester! You'll likely have your nuchal translucency (NT) scan around this time. Your doctor or the hospital staff will explain everything in detail, including what to expect with baby's development and any tests. Make sure to ask all your questions.
At 12 weeks, your baby is getting all their major organs formed and is starting to look more like a tiny human! For me, that's when my nausea started easing up a bit, thankfully. It's also when you typically get your first big ultrasound, the NT scan, which is so exciting to see the baby moving!
By 12 weeks, your risk of miscarriage generally drops, which can feel like a relief. Physically, you might start feeling a bit better as morning sickness might ease. It's a good time to gently re-introduce light exercise like walking or prenatal yoga, but only after your doctor gives you the green light, of course.
The 12th week is such a beautiful milestone! Your little one is growing so much, and often, that's when you feel a bit more secure, seeing them move in the scan. It's the end of the very challenging first trimester, and you can almost start to share your happy news more widely. Cherish every moment.
Oh, the 12th week! I remember being so anxious for my NT scan during that time. It felt like such a relief to see the baby clearly and hear the heartbeat stronger. Did anyone else feel like a huge weight lifted off after that scan, knowing things were progressing well?
