First time pregnant and at my last visit the doctor used something to listen to the heartbeat. Got curious what all instruments they use to check on baby. Anyone knows?

First step is the home urine test strip. After that the gynac uses ultrasound to confirm and check the baby. Thats the usual order.

At home its the urine pregnancy test kit (like Prega News). At the clinic doc confirms with a blood test (beta hcg) and then an ultrasound (sonography) machine to actually see the baby. My doctor did all three steps for me.
