At my scan yesterday the doc said baby is in breech position and now im a bit confused. Matlab what does it exactly mean and does the baby turn on its own later? Im 30 weeks, pls share if anyone had this.
It just means the baby is positioned head-up instead of head-down near the delivery date. I know hearing this term can feel so scary and overwhelming, but please know your body is doing amazing. Don't feel discouraged, whatever way the baby comes out, you are a rockstar.
I understand how anxious any scan report can make you feel, especially if it mentions breech. Please talk to your doctor and let them explain the situation gently to you. Just take care of your health and keep your clinic's emergency number handy just for peace of mind.
Breech is when the baby is sitting bottom-down. Most babies flip by the 36th week anyway, so don't start worrying from now itself. Just keep active, do your daily walks if your doctor has allowed, and let nature do its job.
Yes, it means the baby's head is near your ribs instead of down. My mother-in-law told me to do light household chores and walk a bit to help the baby turn, but of course, I only did what my doctor advised. Don't stress, many times the baby turns naturally before delivery.
Breech just means the baby is sitting comfortably with their head up, maybe waiting for more delicious food to come down first, haha! Mine was breech till week 32 while I was busy enjoying my pani puri cravings, and then turned perfectly head-down later. Don't stress, just enjoy your meals!
Breech position is basically when the baby is head-up, which is quite common in the second or early third trimester. However, your gynecologist is the best person to guide you on this because they track the position through scans. Just follow their advice and don't search too much on Google, it only increases anxiety.
