I keep coming across this term while reading pregnancy stuff and it sounds scary but i dont fully get what it means. Can someone explain in simple words? just trying to understand things better, im newly pregnant.
My doc explained it as the fertilised egg growing in the wrong place, most often the fallopian tube. They detect it on scan plus hcg levels that dont rise normally. It needs medical treatment quickly, so any severe pain or bleeding means call the gynac at once.
Beta it sounds scary but the main thing to remember is it needs a doctor fast, dont wait at home. Early scans catch it. If you ever feel sharp pain on one side with bleeding, go straight to the hospital.
It is when the pregnancy implants outside the uterus, usually in the tube, and it cannot continue safely. I went through one, the pain and spotting were the warning signs. If you have sharp one sided pain or bleeding, pls go to the doctor immediately, it is urgent.
I can only share that when I had one sided pain early on, my doctor checked for this and caught it fast. I would never have known on my own. Please dont try to self diagnose, just see the gynac quickly if something feels wrong.
