Someone in another group mentioned this hook effect thing and now im confused. Matlab the test can show negative even if u are actually pregnant? How does that even happen, can someone explain in simple words pls.
Don't waste money buying ten different test kits. If you suspect the hook effect is happening, just go for a beta hCG blood test, it's very cheap and accurate.
Since I had complications earlier, I don't trust home tricks. If your test line is faint or weird, please consult your doctor for an ultrasound instead of guessing.
Honestly, high hCG levels can overload the test strip and show a negative. Just dilute your urine sample with some water and try testing again, it works!
I totally understand how stressful it is to see a faint line when you know you are pregnant. Take a deep breath, it could just be high hormone levels messing with the kit.
I had a faint line even at 8 weeks and got so confused. Turns out my hCG levels were too high, and diluting the urine with a little water actually made the line darker!
Ah, this happened with my twins because of double hCG levels! The lines were getting lighter, but diluting the urine sample showed a dark positive, quite funny actually!
I had so much anxiety when my test lines started fading. I kept thinking the worst, but learning about the hook effect helped me calm down a bit. Please stay strong.
