Saw this term IVS written somewhere in a pregnancy group and got confused. Not sure if its related to scan or some test. Anyone knows what it actually means?
Haha honestly I thought IVS meant IV lines for drips because I had so many of them during labor! But on scan reports, it is just the baby's heart septum. Sleep well while u can, mama!
I remember googling every single word on my ultrasound reports and crying! It is just the baby's heart wall. Everything is going to be fine, trust the process.
My father told me IVS on reports stands for interventricular septum, which is the wall in baby's heart. He told me not to worry as long as the doctor says it is normal.
During my scans before my C-section, I noticed so many medical short forms like IVS. It's just the wall between the heart chambers. Don't stress yourself over these terms.
