Got my first scan done and the report mentioned a sac but no clear baby yet. The doc said come back after 2 weeks. Im sitting here googling what this sac actually means and getting more confused. Can someone explain in simple words?
I remember my first scan, they pointed at this tiny round sac and said thats where baby is settling in. I felt my heart melt even though it was just a small dot then. It is basically baby's little home in the very start.
When my report said gestational sac seen I got confused too. The doc explained its just the early bag around baby before you can see much else. Was anyone else nervous waiting for the next scan to see the heartbeat?
My doctor showed me on the scan, the sac is the little fluid filled bag where the baby grows in the early weeks. Seeing the gestational sac is one of the first signs on ultrasound, then later they look for the yolk sac and heartbeat. It was so emotional to see that first time.
The sac is the small sphere on the scan that holds the baby and fluid in early pregnancy. Doctors check its size and position to confirm the pregnancy is in the right place. If they spotted it, thats a good first step.
