What is the use of triple marker test in pregnancy?
My doctor suggested triple marker and I nodded but honestly did not understand much. I am in second trimester and test names make me nervous. What did your gynac explain before this test?
I'm about to do this test next week and was nervous too. From what my doc said its just to see if everything is on track. Did anyone else feel anxious before it?
Its basically a routine screening blood test that checks three markers to estimate risk of some chromosomal and developmental issues. Best is to ask ur doctor what the numbers mean for u, they interpret it properly.
My doc explained it nicely. Its a blood test, usually in second trimester, that screens for the chance of certain conditions in the baby like Down syndrome or neural tube issues. Its only a screening, not a confirmation, so dont panic if it shows some risk, they do further tests then.
Its just a screening test, nothing to be scared of. Tells the doctor if baby needs any extra checking. Both my pregnancies I did it and it was a normal part of the schedule.
I did this one. It just gives a probability, not a yes or no. Mine came slightly off and they advised one more test which turned out fine. So please discuss the report only with ur gynac, dont google and scare urself.
