My gynac wrote TVS on my scan slip and im 6 weeks now. Honestly I just nodded but had no idea what it actually means or why she chose that instead of normal scan. Can someone explain in simple words?
TVS is transvaginal scan yaar. They do it early in pregnancy bcoz the baby is too tiny to see properly from a normal tummy scan. Nothing scary, just a small probe internally, over in few minutes.
My gynac explained it as a transvaginal sonography. She said in very early weeks the abdominal scan cant pick up the sac clearly so this gives a much sharper picture. Also helps them check the heartbeat earlier.
I was so nervous before my first TVS, I felt it would hurt but honestly it was fine. That was the first time I saw my baby's little flicker on screen, I actually teared up.
