What to avoid during second trimester of pregnancy?
Just crossed into my 2nd trimester and feeling so much better now, no more vomiting thank god. But i want to be careful, what all should i avoid in these months food wise or otherwise? Pls share.
Avoid eating too much outside food or junk to stay safe from stomach infections. When I was staying at my mom's place, she made sure I only had fresh, simple home-cooked meals and kept me away from heavy kitchen work. Cherish this comfortable time with your family.
Avoid listening to free advice from random aunties on the street, it's bad for your mental peace! Seriously though, avoid raw papaya, too much caffeine, and high heels. Your center of gravity is changing, so leave those stilettos in the closet for now!
Avoid sitting in one place for hours at your office desk; take a 5-minute walking break every hour to prevent swollen feet. Also, avoid skipping meals because of hectic meetings, keep healthy snacks like almonds in your drawer. It's all about managing your energy levels practically.
Avoid spending a bomb on expensive maternity clothes right now, because your size will change again in the third trimester. Also, avoid booking random packages without comparing hospital delivery costs and scan charges first. Plan your budget now for the upcoming anomaly scan and tests.
Avoid sleeping flat on your back, because that heavy belly (especially with twins!) will cut off your blood flow and leave you breathless. Invest in a good pillow and learn to love sleeping on your left side. Also, avoid lifting anything heavy, leave that to your husband!
I felt so energetic in my second trimester that I tried to do everything, which was a mistake because I ended up with terrible backaches. Avoid overexerting yourself just because you feel better. Listen to your body and rest when it asks you to.
