Just found out im pregnant, around 5 weeks, and im suddenly scared to eat anything wrong. Theres so much conflicting info online that im confused. can you mommies tell me what you genuinely stayed away from in the early days?
I just avoided too much spicy and outside food, and skipped papaya. Ate simple home food and fruits. Kept it easy and my pregnancy went fine, dont worry too much.
In our home they always said no raw papaya in the early months, beta. Avoid very heavy oily street food also, it troubles the stomach. But everything in moderation, dont starve yourself worrying about lists.
My doc told me to avoid raw or undercooked eggs and meat, unpasteurised dairy, and too much caffeine. Also limit papaya and pineapple in large amounts in early weeks. She said good hygiene with food matters as much as the list itself.
The basics are raw fish, raw eggs, unpasteurised stuff and cutting down caffeine and any alcohol. Beyond that, the rules vary a bit by person. Best to take a quick diet list from your own gynac so you are not confused by internet articles.
