My feet and ankles have been swelling up a lot, especially by evening, im in my last trimester. It feels heavy and a bit painful to walk. Will check with my gynac also but wanted to know what helped you reduce it.
Keep your legs raised on a pillow when you sit or sleep, that helped me the most. Avoid standing too long and dont cross your legs. Some swelling in the feet is normal in later months, both times mine puffed up by evening.
My mother told me to soak my feet in warm water in the evening and keep them up, which felt lovely. Plenty of water also helped reduce it. But my doctor said to report any sudden swelling, so I kept that in mind.
Mild swelling is common, but if it comes on suddenly, is in your face or hands, or with headache, please call your gynac right away. That can be linked to BP. I learned to take sudden swelling seriously, dont brush it off.
Sitting at a desk all day made my legs swell, so I kept a small stool under my desk to elevate my feet. Short walks every hour and comfy footwear helped too. Little adjustments made a real difference at work.
