What to do if baby is underweight during pregnancy?
My last scan said baby's weight is a little below where it should be for the weeks and im honestly worried sick. gynac wants to recheck in two weeks. anyone went through this and baby caught up later? pls share.
I know hearing baby is underweight is scary and your mind races, mine did too. Take a breath first. With proper diet, rest and the extra scans the doctor schedules, many babies catch up well. Lean on your gynac and try to keep calm, it genuinely helps.
My amma made sure i had milk, ghee, eggs and lots of home food during this time. Good nourishment helps. But please let the doctor lead, they will watch the growth properly through scans. Family food advice is for support, the medical part is for the gynac.
First, dont stress, stress doesnt help the baby grow. Focus on good protein, dals, eggs, paneer, milk, and take all your supplements properly. But the main answer is regular check ups, the doctor will do the growth scans and guide u. My second was small early and caught up fine.
My baby was measuring small in scans and it really worried me. The doctor put me on extra monitoring with more scans and told me to rest more and eat better. Please follow your gynac closely on this, they will track growth and decide if anything more is needed. Dont ignore it but dont panic either.
My gynac explained that babies measuring small can be just constitutionally small or sometimes due to placenta or nutrition. They added protein rich food, iron, more rest and frequent growth scans for me. The key thing is regular monitoring so they catch any change early. Definitely a doctor guided thing, not a home fix.
