What to eat during pregnancy to make baby intelligent?
Second trimester now and everyone around me is suggesting different foods for the baby's brain. I really want to eat right for my little one. What did you all actually include in your diet for this?
My doctor said the big ones for brain development are omega-3 from fish like salmon or from walnuts and flax seeds, plus enough folic acid, iron and choline from eggs. There's no magic food but a balanced diet with these really supports the baby's brain. She also stressed not skipping the prenatal vitamins.
Honestly there's no single 'genius' food, but a good overall diet matters. I focused on eggs, nuts, dairy, leafy greens and fish, and took my folic acid sincerely. Genetics and a healthy environment matter just as much. Your gynac or a dietician can give a proper plan.
You dont need expensive superfoods for this. Simple stuff works, eggs, peanuts, soaked almonds, seasonal greens, dal, milk. I planned cheap protein rich meals and never felt baby missed out. Folic acid and iron from the doctor are the non negotiables, rest is normal home food.
My mother kept giving me almonds soaked overnight, ghee, and lots of green veg, she swears by it. Walnuts especially for brain, she'd say. It's wholesome food so no harm, but I also kept my doctor's diet advice as the main guide, the two went together nicely.
