My hb dropped a little in last report and doc mentioned i should focus on iron rich food along with what shes given. Apart from the usual palak, what else helped u increase it? share ur diet pls.
Green leafy veggies, dates, raisins, jaggery, and add lemon or amla so iron absorbs better. Avoid tea right after meals, it blocks iron. And dont skip the iron supplement your gynac prescribed.
My doctor explained that vitamin C helps iron absorb, so I had my iron foods with a bit of nimbu or orange. Palak, dates, anar, and chana were my go to. She also said to keep taking the prescribed iron tablet regularly.
Beta, in our time we ate lots of spinach, beetroot, dates and jaggery for blood. Cooking in iron kadhai also helps a little. But do take the iron tablets your doctor gives, food alone is not always enough.

Iron rich food doesnt have to be expensive, palak, jaggery, dates, peanuts all work. Just remember to keep getting your Hb checked so you know if its improving. Tablets are cheap too, dont skip them.
