Im 14 weeks and want to start some light yoga to stay active. Bit scared to do wrong poses though. Which type is safe and gentle? pls share what worked for you all.
Gentle pranayama and simple stretches are wonderful. Doing some light yoga helps keep your mind calm and fills you with positive energy. Just listen to your body and do whatever feels comfortable.
It is wonderful that you are thinking about staying active. Gentle prenatal yoga and meditation are so good for both your body and mind during this beautiful journey. Just be gentle with yourself and take breaks whenever you need.
I did some basic prenatal stretches and butterfly pose. My mother-in-law was always hovering, making sure I didn't bend too much or lift my arms! Just stick to safe, gentle breathing exercises and light stretches.
If you want to do yoga, please consult your doctor first to make sure your pregnancy is stable. Once cleared, only do very gentle prenatal yoga with a certified trainer. Avoid any twists or abdominal pressure at all costs.
Honestly, the only yoga I could manage was 'shavasana' because I was permanently exhausted! But jokes aside, prenatal yoga with a certified trainer is best. Don't try anything complex, your body is already doing a major workout.
Prenatal yoga is great, but those specialized classes can be super expensive. I just watched free, basic prenatal stretching videos on YouTube at home. Save that money for your upcoming hospital scans and pediatric bills!
I was so scared of doing the wrong pose and hurting the baby! If you do yoga, make sure it is strictly 'prenatal yoga' and nothing else. Never do hot yoga or deep backbends, and always ask your gynac first.
Prenatal yoga with lots of focus on breathing and pelvic stretches is the best. I did it throughout my pregnancy and it kept me so active. My toddler keeps me busy now, but I still use those breathing tricks to stay calm!
My mother told me to do simple breathing exercises and light walking. When I asked my doctor, she recommended a certified prenatal yoga class. It is very good for back pain, but do get your doctor's okay first.
Prenatal yoga was a blessing for me and definitely helped with my normal delivery later. Gentle stretches, butterfly pose, and deep breathing are amazing. Just ensure you do it under an instructor who knows pregnancy yoga.
