Just found out im pregnant but my periods have always been all over the place so i genuinely have no clue when this happened. Doctor asked me LMP and i couldnt answer properly. how do they figure out the timing in such cases?
Don't worry too much about the exact date beta. When periods are irregular the doctor figures it out from the early scan, which is much more accurate. Just book that appointment and they'll sort it out for you.
My doctor said when cycles are irregular, the usual LMP calculation can be off. She did an early scan to date the pregnancy properly based on baby's size. That's the accurate method, so ask ur gynac for a dating scan.
Honestly with irregular periods you can't pin the exact day reliably. The ultrasound will tell you how far along you are and give a proper due date. Don't bother with online calculators in this case, they assume regular cycles.
With irregular periods (I have PCOS) it's genuinely hard to guess conception date from your last period. The most reliable way is a dating ultrasound, that's what my gynac used for me. Please don't stress over calculating it yourself.
