Im a FTM in my second trimester and reading too much about labour already lol. Just want to understand when do real contractions usually start and how does it feel. Pls share ur experience yaar.
Yaar actually Braxton Hicks contractions (fake ones) toh 2nd trimester ke end me hi feel hone lagte hain, stomach tight ho jata hai. But real labor contractions only start near your due date, mostly around 38-40 weeks. Tab continuous pain hota hai back to front.
During my prenatal classes at the hospital, the nurses gave us a clear checklist for contractions. They said if you get more than 4 contractions in an hour, or if there's any water leaking or bleeding, directly head to the emergency room. It's always best to call their helpline if you are confused.
Since mine was an IVF pregnancy, I was hyper-sensitive to every little tighten in my belly. Fake contractions can start around the 7th month, but real labor pain usually waits till full term. Just take deep breaths, keep your gynac's number on speed dial, and stay calm.
Don't worry, your body knows exactly what to do. Mild tightening can happen anytime in the third trimester which is normal practice for the body. But if you feel regular, painful contractions that keep coming closer together, just call your doctor immediately, okay?
My labor started exactly on my due date at 40 weeks, starting with mild backaches that felt like period cramps. Back then I kept timing them with a stopwatch! Looking back, it was such an intense but beautiful day, you'll manage it beautifully.
With all the heavy vomiting I had, my body was already exhausted, so when Braxton Hicks started around 28 weeks, I panicked. But real contractions are very different—they don't stop when you walk or change positions. Keep yourself hydrated to avoid early mild cramps.
Real contractions started for me at 39 weeks, and they felt like a wave of tight cramp wrapping around my lower back and tummy. Try to practice deep breathing now, it really helped me cope with the pain during labor and breastfeeding later.
Orey baba, don't stress too much about timing them from now itself! Real contractions are hard to miss, they feel like super strong period cramps that come in a proper pattern. Just pack your hospital bag by 36 weeks and stay relaxed, you've got this!
I still get goosebumps thinking of my labor day, those real contractions started around 39 weeks for me. It is a very intense feeling but the moment you hold your baby, all that pain just vanishes into thin air. You are going to be so brave, trust yourself.
According to my gynac, mild tightening called Braxton Hicks can begin after 20 weeks. But true labor contractions, which indicate active labor, typically start between 37 and 42 weeks. If you experience painful, rhythmic contractions before 37 weeks, it could be preterm labor, so seek medical help immediately.
