Im 5 months and my feet feel fine for now, no puffiness yet. Just wondering from which week this usually kicks in so im prepared. Anyone remember when urs started?
It is so hard to watch your body change and deal with heavy legs, mine started in the 28th week. I used to cry sometimes, but please stay strong, it completely goes away after delivery.
Since I had thyroid issues, my doc was very strict about checking my leg swelling and thyroid levels regularly. Make sure u are regular with your doctor follow-ups and blood tests.
Usually it starts around the late second or third trimester because of water retention and pressure on veins. My doctor told me to keep checking my BP because sudden swelling can sometimes mean preeclampsia.
A thoda bit of swelling in the last months is totally normal, dont panic. But if the swelling happens very suddenly or on just one leg, immediately call your gynac.
With both my kids, my feet started swelling around the 6th month. Reduce your salt intake slightly, avoid sitting with hanging legs, and keep your doctor in the loop.
Oh mine started in the 8th month, my feet literally looked like bloated balloons! My gynac checked my urine protein and BP to make sure it was just normal water retention, so keep your doctor updated.
I remember tracking this in my third trimester, it is very common so dont worry. Just try putting a pillow under your feet while sleeping and dont stand for too long.
I am currently planning my pregnancy and reading about all these changes. Does the swelling happen to everyone, or is it only for some? It sounds thoda painful.
For me, the swelling started around the 7th month because of sitting long hours at my office desk. I started keeping my feet elevated on a stool and took short walks every hour.
