When does the brain start developing in pregnancy?
Just hit my second month and i keep wondering about all the development happening inside. Matlab from which week does the baby's brain actually start forming? curious to know.
The neural tube forms in the first few weeks itself! I used this scientific fact as the perfect excuse to eat lots of walnuts, almonds, and avocados because my doc said healthy fats are great for the baby's brain. Definitely add some yummy nuts to your daily snacks!
It actually starts super early, around the fifth week of pregnancy. I remember learning this and feeling so guilty because I was busy puking my guts out and couldn't eat anything healthy! Don't worry, just take your folic acid regularly, even if you can't keep food down.
From the very first month itself, can you believe it? By the time they are born, they already have a master's degree in kicking our ribs at 3 am. Take your vitamins on time, that's the brain fuel they need right now!
I completely understand how overwhelming it is to worry about every single milestone of your baby. The neural tube and brain start developing in the first month itself, which is why folic acid is so important. Trust your body, you are doing a wonderful job carrying this little life.
Brain development begins right in the first trimester. To make sure there is great oxygen flow, I did light morning walks daily, but only after my gynac allowed it. Do consult your doctor before starting any physical routine during this crucial phase.
