Im 33 weeks now and my gynac mentioned baby is head down but not yet fixed. Just curious from when does the head actually engage and lock into position? Some ladies told me it happens only in last weeks. Pls share when it happened for u.
Mine just fixed last week and suddenly I can breathe again but now I pee every 5 minutes, the joys, haha. Doc said its a good sign baby is getting ready. Everybody's timing is different so dont compare.
My gynac explained head engagement, when the head fixes into the pelvis, often happens a few weeks before delivery in first time mums, sometimes only during labour in repeat pregnancies. She tracked it in the third trimester. Its one of many signs, not the only one.
Usually the baby's head settles into the pelvis in the last weeks, around 36 weeks onwards for first pregnancies. With my second it engaged closer to labour itself. Your doctor checks this at each visit near the end, so dont worry if it hasnt happened yet.
