When is indirect coombs test done during pregnancy?
My blood group is negative and doctor mentioned indirect Coombs test in the next visit. I forgot to ask when exactly it is done and why. Any Rh negative moms here who can share?
Its part of the antibody screening, mostly at the first visit and again in the third trimester for Rh negative moms. Your gynac decides the schedule based on ur blood group, so go by what they say.
My gynac did this because Im Rh negative. She told me its usually done in early pregnancy and then again around 28 weeks to check for antibodies. If ur blood is Rh negative its pretty standard.
Usually booked early in pregnancy and repeated later if needed, mainly for Rh negative mothers. Both my pregnancies I did it. Your doc will tell u the exact week.
I had this test as my blood group was negative. Its done to make sure ur body isnt reacting against the baby. Timing depends on ur case so ask ur doctor exactly when urs is due, they keep track.
