Im a first time mom, around 6 months now, and curious about when the milk actually starts. Some aunties say it can come before delivery only. Is that true?
Mine started around the second trimester, I noticed some yellowish leakage, which is colostrum. It's totally normal. Just make sure you're taking care of yourself, staying hydrated, and if you're doing any light exercises like walking or prenatal yoga, ensure your doctor has given you the green light. A healthy body helps with everything, including milk production later on!
Generally, your breasts start preparing for breastfeeding quite early, sometimes as early as the second trimester. What you might see is colostrum, which is a thick, yellowish fluid. Don't worry if you don't see it though, some women don't leak at all during pregnancy and still have plenty of milk after delivery. Just wear comfortable bras, no need to stress.
It's quite normal for breasts to start producing colostrum, which is the first form of milk, even in the second or third trimester of pregnancy. Some women notice leakage, others don't. Every body is different. If you're concerned about the amount or color, or if there's any discomfort, it's always best to have a quick chat with your gynac, just to be sure everything is progressing well.
For me, it was around my sixth month when I noticed a bit of sticky, yellowish fluid. It's called colostrum and it's packed with good stuff for the baby! It's a sign your body is getting ready. Don't worry too much about the exact timing, every woman is different. Just focus on a healthy pregnancy and a positive mindset for your delivery.
Your body is a miracle, beti. Milk, or actually colostrum first, often begins to form in the second trimester as nature prepares for the baby's arrival. Just focus on taking good care of yourself, staying positive, and trusting in the process. Sab theek ho jayega. God bless you and your little one.
Oh, I'm actually 25 weeks pregnant right now and I've just started noticing a little bit of yellowish discharge from my breasts, especially after a shower. Is that what you mean by milk? My MIL said it's colostrum and it's totally normal. Has anyone else experienced this already?
