First time pregnant and im totally confused about the counting. Do we start from the day of conception or from last period? My gynac said something but I forgot matlab. Can someone explain simply pls?
Oh, I was wondering about this too! It gets a bit confusing, doesn't it? From what I've looked up, usually doctors count from the first day of your last menstrual period, even though you're not technically pregnant then. It's just a standard medical way to calculate things. Are you trying to conceive or already pregnant?
In our families, we often count from when we *feel* pregnant, but medically, it's different. Your gynac will calculate it from the first day of your Last Menstrual Period (LMP). Even if you conceive later, that's the standard. My doctor was very clear about this. Just trust your doctor for accurate dates.
Doctors usually start counting your pregnancy from the first day of your last period. That's how they calculate your due date. Just follow your gynac's guidance.
From what I've understood, doctors usually count from the first day of your last period. It sounds a bit strange because you aren't really pregnant then, but that's how they figure out the weeks. It's probably best to confirm with a doctor once you know you are pregnant.
It's always counted from the first day of your Last Menstrual Period (LMP). Even before conception, that's the starting point for calculating gestational age and due date. So, when you tell your doctor your LMP, they will start counting from there. It's standard practice.
